Walt Disney World August Hours Updated

At the Magic Kingdom, park operating hours have been extended by 1 hour on a handful of days. On about a dozen nights with only one scheduled performance of the Main Street Electrical Parade or SpectroMagic Parade, an additional showing of the parade has been added. Days affected in MK are August 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 13, 17, 20, 22, and 25.

Note that several days through the end of July in MK have also seen operating times extended by 1 hour with an additional showing of MSEP.

Over at Disney's Hollywood Studios, park hours have been extended by 1 to 1.5 hours on many nights along with an additional showing of Fantasmic. These changes have mainly been scheduled on days when Fantasmic was already showing. Days affected at DHS are August 1, 3, 5, 8, 10, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 22, 24 and 26.

At the Animal Kingdom, park closing times have been extended by 1 hour on August 22, 25 and 28.

There are no changes at Epcot, Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon.

January 2011 Theme Park Hours

The January 2011 hours are now up for the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon and DisneyQuest. Operating hours for Disney's Hollywood Studios went up several days ago. Also note a minor 1 hour change to the operating hours of the Magic Kingdom on July 28.

Disney At It Again... More Changes to July Park Hours!!

Magic Kingdom is the park most affected. On many days in July, MK has extended operating times by 1 hour and added an extra showing of the Main Street Electrical Parade. As well, there are a few changes to Extra Magic Hours.

On select nights at Disney's Hollywood Studios, the park has extended operating times by 1 hour and added an extra showing of Fantasmic.

There have been no changes to the operating hours for Epcot and Animal Kingdom.

Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon operating hours are unchanged; however, Disney has added some Extra Magic Hours at the end of July and beginning of August.

Finally, in a funny move, Disney has published January hours for Hollywood Studios, but not the other theme parks. It is probably only a matter of days before we see January hours for the rest of the Walt Disney World Resort.

Walt Disney World Marathon & Disney Princess Half Marathon

Disney has officially released the following special event dates for next year. The Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend will take place from Thursday, January 6th to Sunday, January 9th, 2011. Registration now open for the various events over the 4 days. The Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend will take place from Friday, February 25 to Sunday, February 27th, 2011. Registration for the Princess Half Marathon opens July 6th, 2010.
